Mary Campbell was born on June 10, 1849 to Henry C. Campbell and his wife the former Wealthy Wells. Henry C. Campbell died in August of 1852. His young daughter Mary died at the age of 3, on February 18, 1853. A brief obituary for Mary appeared in the Daily Commercial Register of February 18, 1853. It read:
Died
At the residence of David Campbell, Esq. at five o'clock this morning, Mary Campbell, daughter of Henry C. Campbell, lately deceased, and Wealthy W. Campbell, aged 3 years, 5 months and 10 days.
"When God calls his darlings, they can but go."
Funeral to take place next Sunday at 8 o'clock P.M.
Little Mary was buried in the family lot at Oakland Cemetery in Sandusky, Ohio.
