Click here for more information about several events taking place on the Marblehead Peninsula on September 22 and 23, 2012 commemorating the Bicentennial of the War of 1812. Events will include reenactments of the 1812 skirmish on the Peninsula, speakers, a church service, and a memorial service and wreath laying at the Giddings Monument. Events will take place at the Keeper's House and Battlefield Park on the Marblehead Peninsula.

These events are just a short drive from where I live...so I definitely plan to attend!
Have you ever been to the Keeper's House? It is free, and open summer weekdays from 1-5. It's really a nice place to visit, and there is a cute photo op spot close by. (Two people can place their face in a cut-out circle, and you can pretend to be Mr. & Mrs. Wolcott!)
We have (been to the Keeper's House) but it was a long time ago. Going back to that area of northern Ohio is still on my list of things to do! Cathy @ palmsrv
