Marriage Record of Daniel Larkin and Johanna Skehan

Because of Ancestry's free access to Irish records this week, I was able to see the marriage record of my ancestors, Daniel Larkin/Larkins and Joanna Skehan. They were married in 1823 in the Catholic Church in Killenaule, County Tipperary, Ireland. They emigrated to the United States, and settled in Sandusky, Ohio. The final resting place of Daniel and Johanna Larkins is at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Sandusky, Ohio. How wonderful to find this marriage record!

"Especially for You" Radio program in March of 1951

Above is a transcript of a brief radio program which aired on WLEC Radio in Sandusky on March 7, 1951. The "Especially for You" program, featuring Jeanne Shepard, was sponsored by the H&S Bakery in Sandusky, Ohio. This particular episode was sending best wishes to my great grandparents, Roy and Ada on their 50th wedding anniversary. Grandma Ada was the recipient of a Betsy Ross cake, in honor of the Parkers' anniversary. WLEC Radio was a favorite radio station of my parents! Below is a picture of Grandpa and Grandma Parker from their 50th Year Wedding Anniversary celebration. On the day of the radio broadcast, Grandam Ada was the "Betsy Ross Lady Who Takes the Cake."

John Kinney, Age 20 Days

John Kinney, son of John C. Kinney and his wife Amelia, died on March 12, 1868 at the age of 20 days. Though it is now quite weathered, it appears that a floral design was sculpted at the top of his tombstone. Rest in peace, little one. John Kinney was buried in the family lot at Oakland Cemetery in Block 37.
