James E. McCann, Longtime Letter Carrier in Sandusky
James Edward McCann was born in 1871 in Sandusky, Ohio to Mr. and Mrs. Owen McCann, who were both natives of Ireland. James E. McCann worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Sandusky for over thirty years. Mr. James E. McCann passed away at Providence Hospital on April 25, 1926, following a lengthy illness. He was survived by his wife and his daughter Mary, who at that time was a college student at the Western Reserve University. Mary McCann would go on to be the head librarian at the Sandusky Library for several years. James E. McCann was buried at Sandusky's Oakland Cemetery.
