Schade-Mylander Mausoleum Has New Door


































A new door has been put in place on the Schade-Mylander Mausoleum at Sandusky's Oakland Cemetery. The mausoleum is the final resting place for several members of the Schade and Mylander families. Here is a closer view of the names on the door.

The first name listed in William Schade, the great grandfather of George Mylander. Next is the name of his great grandmother, Susan E. (Heck) Schade. George J. Schade was the maternal grandfather of George Mylander. Julian K. Schade was the son of George J. Schade. Anna Kuebeler Schade was the wife of George J. Schade, and the grandmother of George Mylander. Dr. Lester R. Mylander was the father of George Mylander. Christine Schade Mylander was the mother of George Mylander. George L. Mylander, a U.S. Veteran, former city commissioner, philanthropist, and civic leader was born in 1932 and he died in January, 2016.




The following inscription is located under the name of George L. Mylander, the member of the family who passed away most recently.

The strife is o'er
The battle done.
May eternal reunion
Be their reward.
