George Jacob Schweitzer was born on December 24, 1855 to George Jacob and Elizabeth Schweitzer. The Sandusky City Directory of 1873 lists the younger George Jacob as a cigar maker. The son, George Jacob Schweitzer, died on June 29, 1874, as a very young man. The top of his tombstone is inscribed with the words "Our Only Son and Brother." George Jacob Schweitzer was buried at Oakland Cemetery. He was survived by his parents and two sisters.
